ALASKA!

Micah and I got back last night from an amazing trip to Anchorage, Alaska for Elisha and Todd's wedding! There were definitely hard things about traveling that many miles with a 5 week old, but it was so worth it to be part of such a dear friends wedding celebration and spend such sweet time (even though it wasn't a lot of time) with my friends. Emily traveled with us and was such a huge help...I couldn't have made the trip without her! As you can imagine, traveling with that many bags and stuff is hard enough, but when you've got a baby that is eating every 2 hours and needs changed just as often, it gets a little tricky to take on an 18 hour travel day!

Just a few pictures...I'll post more when we all do our photo swap later. Elisha was beautiful and it was an unforgettable wedding.

that smile...

i got my first smile from micah on mother's day. and now, every morning at least once or twice he'll look at us and give a melty smile. i know sometimes at this age they are just smiling because they have gas, but if that's the case, i hope micah's gas continues, because i have never seen a smile so cute!

there and back again... micah's tale

we just got back from virginia where we went for kaileigh's graduation. micah did amazingly well during the travel and got no angry stares from people on the plane. by the end of the weekend though, he had a meltdown or two from all the activity! in fact, we rang in mothers day 2009 with me sobbing by the bed as micah screamed in my face! hoping next year micah will be on his best behavior for his mom!

something to blog about!

since last july, i've been searching for things to blog about, and since i didn't want to record every pregnancy symptom of heartburn and nausea, i took a break from my blog for awhile. i did not, however, take a break from blogs entirely, and spent the last 9 months reading other pregnancy blogs and hearing all THEIR symptoms!

but finally, i have something fun and constantly changing to write about...micah david girden arrived april 15th with the cutest, roundest face and mouth on his 19 inch, 7 pound 15 oz frame! so here i will post pictures and milestones for anyone that cares to follow...(i realize the only faithful readers may be his grandparents and proud aunties and uncles!)

i've learned already how fast things are slipping by without being recorded, and i hate the thought of forgetting any of this, so this blog will help me record and remember the sweet stages he goes through...so welcome to micah's blog!
